Information session

Professional artists and professional arts organizations are invited to participate in a free information session.

This bilingual session will:

provide an overview of the Canada Council
discuss grants available for professional artists and arts organizations
explain how the assessment process works

Free grant-writing workshops

Open to professional* artists in the disciplines of:

Music
Creative Writing
Visual Arts (including Fine Craft)

*Professional artist: Someone who has specialized training in their field (not necessarily in an academic institution); is recognized by professional colleagues working in the same artistic tradition; has a history of public presentation or is a professionally published author/translator; and is committed to devoting more time to artistic activity, if financially feasible.

All workshops will explain:

how to complete application forms
how to submit your support material
how your application will be assessed

Bring your résumé. This will help program officers determine your eligibility as a professional artist.
