STREAMING LIVE: MEL KEITH CD RELEASE SHOW TO BE BROADCAST OVER THE INTERNET

One of Moncton’s brightest starts Mel Keith will be releasing her debut, self-titled EP ‘Mel Keith & The Strombachs’ on her new record label MerleSongRecords which will be distributed by Fontana North/Universal Music Canada on Tuesday, June 9th. The release show will be held on Thursday, June 11th from 5:00 – 7:00pm at the Empress Theatre in Moncton, New Brunswick.
"I'm embracing the juggernaut that is the Internet. We're going to try some things we've never done before with the live streaming of the release show, and the real-time Twitter updates. There is a world of resources out there that should be used or at least looked into." commented Mel Keith. The release show will be taped and broadcast live at 6:00pm AST over the internet for fans in a different part of the country and across the globe on her website: www.melkeith.com. You will also be able to follow her throughout the day of the release, leading up to and during the show on the popular social networking site Twitter (http://twitter.com/melkeith). "With this release I'm looking forward to getting the CD out, and getting out there to play and meet as many music fans as possible! ABOUT MEL KEITH:
Mel Keith's powerful and emotive voice shines on her debut self-titled EP - a Pop-Rock/Americana gem to be released June 9th. The EP includes an impressive list of her own songs, along with works by other songwriters that have been nominated in the International Songwriting Competition in Nashville, TN, and placed in the top 500 of the Billboard International Songwriting Competition. Songs from Mel Keith's latest release have also been used in U.S. and Australian films. Mel has toured Canada and played several major festivals including Wakestock, CMW, and ECMA. She also led her band to win The Extreme Music Series, a national band competition, in 2005. She has shared the stage with noted East Coast artists Catherine MacLellan, Ruth Minnikin, Rose Cousins, Fayo, Matt Andersen, Chris Colepaugh, Jac Gautreau, The Divorcees, and most recently Lennie Gallant.
