HOW LONG MUST I WAIT FOR AN ANSWER?

Decisions regarding the application will be communicated a maximum of six (6) weeks after the deadline. The Program Officer will do their best to get your application processed as quickly as possible.

WHAT IS THE EVALUATION PROCESS?

First, the Program Officer will check your application to ensure all the required information is included.

Then, for juried components, a jury of music industry professionals are asked to evaluate the applications based on the impact the project will have on the applicant's career and the quality of the application itself. The jury will also look at the Applicant Profile associated with the application for artistic merit and industry activity. All jury members sign a conflict of interest disclaimer before the evaluation start.

For non-juried components, the Program Officer reviews and evaluates the information provided and can recommend the project to the MNB-MID committee for sign off. Not quite a jury but a simpler and faster process.

If a project is not recommended for investment, MNB will provide feedback and the Applicant is encouraged to resubmit.

WHO IS PART OF THE JURY?

Juries are comprised of three music industry professionals, including career musicians, managers, agents, booking agents, label operators, and other individuals who are knowledgeable about the music industry.  Jurors will be mostly, but will not be limited to, residents of New Brunswick.

Music•Musique NB staff are not involved in the evaluations that take place during the juries.

Can I be a juror?

We are always looking for qualified candidates to join our Jury Pool! You would not only be helping your music industry, you would also get great insight into writing better applications for your own future projects.
