Saint John-based singer/songwriter has just announced the release of her first album BalconyEP to be released November 1st. Kylie will officially release two singles from the album, Stephen and Alberta on September 29th. In the meantime, a sneak preview of the tracks is available to stream on Bandcamp.

BalconyEP was recorded and mixed throughout the summer at Monopolized Records by Corey Bonnevie. Featured on the album are Geoffry Smith (Little You Little Me, Tooth and the Fang) on drums, Chuck Teed on Bass, Nienke Izurieta (Ladd and Lasses) on violin and Jamie Comeau (Jamie Comeau and the Crooked Teeth) on lead guitar. The album was made possible through funding from New Brunswick’s department of Tourism, Heritage and Culture. The album features seven tracks on the CD and two bonus tracks to be exclusively released digitally due to their explicit content.

BalconyEP features conversations surrounding addiction, millennials, loneliness and our true north strong and free. Kylie challenges each theme with an honest and witty bite with an innate skill of having each song end in a punchline. Her sets have brought spectators to tears with songs like Alberta and Things w/ Sam for their relatable nakedness and tears of laughter with tracks like The Tinder Song and The Cat Song.

Kylie has become a familiar name in the New Brunswick music scene, having played Stereophonic Festival, The Quality Block Party and Folly Fest. She was nominated for Saint John’s Female Artist of 2016 at the Saint John Best awards and was awarded Best New Artist of 2015 at Mount Allison University. She looks forward to playing at Perish Fest October 7th, with Gianna Lauren in the Wilser’s Room October 18th and with the Galpines at Grimross Brewery on October 21st. She will be announcing other show dates as well as a potential tour in the upcoming weeks.
