Laurie LeBlanc chosen to represent the province of NB at the 2018 CCMA Spotlight Performance Contest
– Music NB has selected Laurie LeBlanc, the “2017 Country Artist of the Year”, to represent New Brunswick at the 2018 CCMA Spotlight Performance Contest.
Hosted by the Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA), the winner will receive one (1) performance spot at a public, official CCMA-sanctioned event, during the Country Music Week (September 6-9, 2018) in Hamilton, Ontario.
Nine provincial music associations were reached out to submit one country artist to represent their respective provinces. (Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, Manitoba, Newfoundland & Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Saskatchewan and New Brunswick)

Laurie is one of nine finalists eligible to win this prestigious national contest. The public will determine the winner by casting their vote starting Monday, June 11 at 9:00 a.m. E.T. on the online poll. The artist receiving the most votes by 5:00 pm. E.T. on Friday, June 22 will win the performance spot along with complimentary delegate pass to Country Music Week, hotel accommodation, transportation and one-year CCMA and MIA memberships. The Public Choice Award Winner at the 2017 Canadian Francophone Country Award Gala is nominated once again at this year’s Event which will be held in Mont Tremblant QC in October. The nominations include Male Vocalist, Tour of the Year and SOCAN song of the Year with his hit single Country Reggae.
