Music NB to administer grant program
FREDERICTON (GNB) – The Department of Tourism, Heritage and Culture is transferring the administration of its Music Industry Development Program to Music NB (MNB).
“We are transferring the administration of this program, beginning in June, as part of our ongoing efforts to ensure efficient delivery of services to New Brunswickers,” said Tourism, Heritage and Culture Minister John Ames. “We are confident that Music NB will be an excellent steward of this popular grant program on behalf of the government.”
New Brunswick will join its Atlantic counterparts in having its music industry association deliver its music program. The program has three major components which offer financial support to the music industry in New Brunswick for:
- sound recording;
- market access; and
- emerging artists.
“Music/Musique NB is looking forward to taking on this new opportunity to serve the New Brunswick music industry,” said Jean Surette, executive director of the association. “The program contributes greatly in developing the careers of artists and music businesses from across the province and we are proud to be part of its growth.”
MNB is a provincial non-profit, association that works to develop, promote and celebrate New Brunswick’s music community.
