Since its inception in 1994, the New Brunswick Summer Music Festival has attracted some of Canada’s finest classical musicians. Showcasing composers from Beethoven and Dvorak to iconic NB composers Kalnins and Applebaum, the NB Summer Music Festival has become an important musical and community event for Fredericton that brings people together from all over New Brunswick, the Maritimes, and Canada in celebration of Canadian classical chamber music.

This year we bring together new and reimagined events and venues alongside our four-day main series to cap off the festival. To continue the tradition of featuring the works of well-known composers alongside lesser-known composers, we are featuring a number of Russian composers with Canadian connections. August 17-20, 2016 @ 7:30PM - Memorial Hall

The New Brunswick Summer Music Festival is proudly presenting its third and final installment of the 2016 Historic Spaces series featuring Vivienne Ni on the piano. Our past concerts of the series were held at the Gagetown Courthouse and St. Anne’s Chapel and both proved to be wildly successful. So come down and celebrate one of Fredericton’s most beautiful and iconic buildings, the Charlotte Street Arts Centre, and listen to Vivienne Ni grace our ears on the piano. August 7th, 2016 @ 2PM - Charlotte Street Arts Centre

As always we are pleased to partner with Fredericton Tourism to present Mozart in the Park at Officer’s Square in Downtown Fredericton. August 9, 2016 @ 7:30PM - Officer’s Square

Our last free concert of the summer as well as our last strictly classical music experience before our highly anticipated Main Series concert will be Music at the Cathedral on August 12th at the Christ Church Cathedral. August 12, 2016 @ 12:00PM – Christ Church Cathedral

In addition to expanding the classical chamber music events this year, we are also excited to host the 3rd annual FUZE series in partnership with FeelsGood, which features emerging electronic musicians from across New Brunswick, with a goal of drawing in a more contemporary audience. As part of our FUZE series we will once again present constructions, where emerging NB musicians are invited to craft unique compositions that fuse modern electronica with Russian classical music. August 12, 2016 @ 10PM - Capital Complex August 13, 2016 @ 8PM - Memorial Hall

We are also proud to announce that this years festival will include a children’s performance at the Fredericton Public Library with Richard Perlmutter and his 4 time Grammy nominated show, Beethoven’s Wig. August 11, 2016 @ 2:30PM - Fredericton Public Library
