Brunton Auditorium, Mount Allison University
The Sackville Festival of Early Music is pleased to present nine-time Juno Award winning and Grammy nominated orchestra, Tafelmusik. The concert will take place on Wednesday, November 22 at 8:00pm at Brunton Auditorium, Mount Allison University, in Sackville, New Brunswick.
This will be the only New Brunswick concert as part of an Eastern Canada tour with stops in Québec, Prince Edward Island, and Nova Scotia. The concert will be presented in conjunction with the Mount Allison University Department of Music, and will include a residency for students of the music program.
J. S. Bach: The Circle of Creation combines text, music, and stunning projected video and images to explore the world of the artisans — papermakers, violin carvers, string spinners, and performers — who helped J.S. Bach realize his musical genius. This all-Bach programme is performed by Tafelmusik musicians entirely from memory. J. S. Bach: The Circle of Creation blends 21st-century technology with an exploration of the tradition and skill of old world craftspeople and artisans. As was the case with its predecessors, The Galileo Project and House of Dreams, programme creator Alison Mackay’s latest work redefines the concert experience.
Tickets for the Tafelmusik Concert can be purchased online or by calling 506-878-3786.
