SCENE NB: Fredericton’s David in the Dark performs at the Empress

Posted by

The Capitol Theatre is proud to present David in the Dark, the last performance of the SCENE NB concert series, Thursday, May 24th at 7:30pm. Presented at the Empress Theatre in collaboration with Music NB, this series of monthly concerts features exciting artists creating, recording and producing now, from across New Brunswick. Tickets are now on sale at the Capitol Box Office and are priced at $15.

Pairing melodic, sun-soaked rock with sparkling pop hooks, Fredericton’s David in the Dark is “one the greatest gifts of the year” (Grid City Magazine). A creative, cohesive unit that’s topped regional campus radio and toured relentlessly. David in the Dark is Evan LeBlanc, Jane Blanchard, Dylan Ward, Stefan Westner and Tim Everett. All members come from different musical backgrounds, but came together in October 2014 to form this band (except for Tim Everett, who joined in late 2017).

Revelling in luminous tones and auspicious timbre, Fire (their debut album) evokes the urgency of summer nights while affirming David in the Dark as one of the more accomplished, dynamic and musically promising bands to rise from Atlantic Canada. The band has been on many East Coast and central Canadian tours, have played multiple festival main stage shows. They are very excited to be at the Empress Theatre in Moncton, where the audience can always expect high energy, up beat songs that speak to love, loss, heartbreak, travel, and those hot summer days that are soon on their way.
