Fredericton based alternative folk band The Falling Leaves are gearing up for the release of their debut album Unfurl this month. The release show is a collaboration with Roots & Soul music promotions and will be taking place at The Capital on April 28th. 20% of proceeds from the show will be donated to The Conservation Council of New Brunswick. Also featured will be up and coming local duo The Fundy Drifters.

Unfurl was recorded and mixed by Jay Merril Sound Design and will be one of the first recordings to emerge from the newly formed Marshall Studios in Fredericton. Featured on the album are Liv and Anita Cazzola of Ontario band "The Lifers" who will be playing multiple performances in May following the release of their own second album "Honey Suite".

The Falling Leaves are a six piece band born from the songwriting of Alex Green and brought to life by the instrumental talents of Patrick Gushue (Violin), Calum Jackson (Bass), Scott Michaud (Banjo), and Liam Keith Jaques (Dobro) of Local bluegrass troupe "The Montgomery Street band" as well as Andrew Spurway (Drums) of "The Delirious Monks". They have been regulars in the maritime music scene for close to three years and have been featured at such local festivals as Harvest Jazz and Blues, Folly Fest and Evolve.

The Falling Leaves will be following their album release with sets at Living Roots music festival and Paddlefest in May.
