Creating and playing music has always been a meaningful part of Hayden Wiebe’s life, but
recently his music has been progressively making it’s way into the lives of others. The 21 year old Independent Folk-Rock artist from St. Stephen, New Brunswick has released his first EP in January 2016 of original songs entitled Demons.
With lyrics that are thought provoking and personal, and a musical style that is both natural and accessible, Hayden has a way of making one feel at ease as he portrays the struggles and intuitions of self-understanding, love, and human nature. As a listener, one is drawn to observe what makes us human, and to ponder the value of accepting of our own personal weaknesses as well as our strengths.
As an integral part of this EP debut, Hayden has been collaborating with the talents of musician/songwriter/producer Raymond Funk. The two have a strong musical connection and are excited to have finished taking the vision of this project to completion. Recording and
engineering was completed by the skilled John McLaggan of Porchlight Studios.
Used to sharing the stage, Raymond & Hayden were chosen to showcase at Festival 506 in Mirimichi last fall, adding to their previous appearances at other New Brunswick music festivals including Paddle Fest, Winter Warmer in St Andrew’s and Campobello Fogfest. The group also opened in their hometown at the Garcelon Civic Center for Montreal Pop artist "Jonathon Roy".
In the spring of 2016 Hayden participated in the "Canadian Songwriting Challenge" hosted in Bathurst, NB by Music NB. This four day challenge brought emerging artists together and with the help of Danny Boudreau and Adyn Townes wrote, recorded, and performed original works.
Acknowledged for his efforts, Hayden was nominated by Music NB in 2016 for "Folk Artist of the Year" and is excited for more opportunities to share his music in 2018 and beyond.
