The Capitol Theatre is a regional, bilingual cultural centre hosting over 150 performances annually. We promote and present local, regional, national, and international artists from all disciplines for you – our patrons.
Located in the heart of downtown Moncton, the Capitol is a fully restored heritage theatre, boasting state-of-the-art technical capabilities. The Capitol Theatre features the Main Hall, a beautifully restored 780-seat vaudeville style theatre; the Empress Theatre, a versatile space with a capacity of up to 200; and the Capitol Theatre Art Gallery, a professional exhibition space showcasing regional visual artists. All three venues, as well as our Pearce Lounge meeting space, are available for rent.
The Capitol Theatre also offers performing arts training and performance opportunities in both official languages through our outreach program, the Capitol Theatre Academy.
Regular hours for the Capitol Theatre box office are Monday - Friday from 9am - 5pm; Saturday 12pm - 4pm, and 2 hours prior to each performance.
