Bringing a fresh sound to the city of Moncton, Fuzz Fiction delivers tones of a time when music mattered to an audience of hip and inspired youngsters. The Neo-psychedelic rock band draws inspiration from bands ranging from Pink Floyd to Joy Division.
Releasing their first full length album in May 2016, Fuzz Fiction is establishing itself as a solid act in the hub city region. Fuzz Fiction self-titled album is a collage of mixed emotions, fuzzed-up guitar laments and synthesized pop melodies. When Beaulieu and Paulin met for some recording sessions late July 2015, the duo quickly grew chemistry and began recording some old songs Paulin had written as well as some brand new collaborations, spawning the desire to form a full band, the duo became a quartet with the addition of bassist Franz Mecking and drummer Alexandre Tremblay both former UdeM music students, thus creating the band's will to record their first full length. The album was engineered by Scott Beaulieu who spent most of his teenage years recording in his childhood home, where he returned to record all of the music of Fuzz Fiction's eponymous debut.
''The Canadian band makes songs that are vibrantly rooted in surf rock and punk traditions, and the record sounds like it could have been made at any time in the past 40 years, which is a great thing (think 'timelessness').'' - The Nerdist (Nerdist.com)
''En gros, un premier album pour Fuzz Fiction qui promet de plaire aux amateurs de punk, de rock et de prog et qui démontre agilement le talent musical et les forces en composition des quatre membres, ceux-ci ayant des influences différentes qui se marient à merveille pour donner un son rafraichissant pour la scène musicale néo-brunswickoise.'' - Astheure (Astheure.com)
