Shades of Sorrow

Métal, Rock

Shades of Sorrow is a heavy metal band from Moncton, New Brunswick Canada. Their sound is a blend of old and new metal with a splash of European influence. Shades of Sorrow's members, Monise Ouellette (Vocals), Julien LeBlanc (Bass), Mike Taylor (Guitars), and Pascal Deslongchamps, (Drums), form an eclectic group that has spent the last 10 years honing their sound and are ready to expand their reach to the rest of the world. With influences ranging from all over the musical spectrum, they seamlessly blend multiple genres into their signature heavy sound. Shades has had the pleasure to perform with some of the best bands from the East Coast and the rest of Canada as well as international touring acts. Their fourth release, "ASCENSION" is full of heavy, groovy riffs, soaring vocals, and some acoustic songs, that takes you on a dynamic journey filled with peaks and valleys. Each song on the album has their own personality but still plays front to back in a seamless musical experience. The album received a nomination for the "Loud" categories in both the Music/Musique NB Awards and East Coast Music Awards and the band has performed at both of their respective showcases. The album also charted on local college and university radio stations. It was initially released independently on their own label, Chester Records, and is now being released through Sliptrick Records. Shades of Sorrow is currently recording the yet to be named followup to ASCENSION which will also be released by Sliptrick Records.
