Sasha Louis Leger is a Canadian composer and sound designer who elegantly blends his musical roots in folk and rock with accomplished classical training. His music explores the duality of depth and vulnerability, which seems to accurately reflect the complex nuances of our lives. The young composer’s sonic identity is said to align seamlessly with the growing neoclassical movement.
A recent graduate of the prestigious Berklee College of Music, Sasha’s works have been recorded by various ensembles and professional orchestras in renowned studios around the world (AIR Studios, Studio 22, BNR Recording Studios). He furthered his knowledge in composition by attending the summer program at the Film Scoring Academy of Europe in Bulgaria, as well as the very first SOCAN Scoring Retreat at the Banff Center for Arts and Creativity. The following year, he joined the Vancouver International Film Festival Annual Amp cohort, studying alongside industry giants like Michael Abels.
Sasha’s recent endeavours on documentary series such as Les Chemins de Travers with major television networks (Unis TV, Télé-Québec, CBC, Radio-Canada) has been recognized by SOCAN with an Emerging Screen Composer Award.
