Future Forest

Rôle:

Back for its 8th year after postponing in 2020 due to Covid-19, New Brunswick's Future Forest will drape itself across the lush trees and riverside at Albrights Corner, inviting attendees to immerse themselves in a musical wilderness. The outdoor camping arts and electronic music festival was created in 2012, as a means of raising funds for DJ Jay Hamilton, who was diagnosed with cancer. Future Forest proudly embraces the perspective that there are no spectators at the event, but rather participants who in some way contribute to the overall experience.

Festival-goers will submerge themselves into a world where nature, art and technology collide, bound by the sounds of Bass, Trap, Hip-hop, Funk, Throwback House and Psychedelic Techno. Spread across three stages; The Nest Stage, The Mushroom Stage and The Prism Stage, attendees will find themselves surrounded by a myriad of artists and performers, including live painters, acrobatic and pole dancers, hula hoopers, fire spinners, aerial performers, and installation artists. In conjunction with nature and art, technology remains an integral part of Future Forest. Watch and listen in awe, as the latest sound and projection video mapping are utilized to deliver a truly innovative experience!

If you find yourself seeking refuge from the dance floor, wander over to the Artisan Village to partake in the numerous vendors selling handcrafted jewellery, clothing, hammocks and more. Not to mention, here's where you'll be able to satisfy any mouth-watering craving. A market selling fresh, locally grown organic food and delicious, prepared options will be available on-site for hungry guests. Join us August 6 -9th 2021 for a truly surreal experience on Canada's spectacular East Coast!
Located just outside of Fredericton, New Brunswick, on the side of Little River, Future Forest immerses its participants in nature. The festival features three unique stages that are built using the natural resources the forest provides. For example, the tall trees and beautiful landscape are utilized for stage construction and the latest sound and projection video mapping technology. An entire team of artists work year round to bring the most innovative and creative stage designs to the east coast.

In addition to its focus on artistic stage design and technology, Future Forest presents a wide diversity of artists and performers. Some of these include: live painters; acrobatic and pole dancers; hula hoopers; fire spinners; aerial performers; and installation artists.

Future Forest also offers an artisan village with local vendors, many of who create their own merchandise. Some of this merchandise includes handmade clothing, jewellery, hand blown glass and much more. This year, the village will also have a small farmers market selling fresh locally grown organic food. Of course, there will also be local vendors selling their own special and deliciously prepared food for all the hungry participants.

All of these things combined are what make Future Forest unique. It is truly an empowering and fulfilling experience for participants to recognize their contributions to the festival. Contributions, whether big or small, are greatly appreciated and all add significant value to the festival in some way. Without the dedication and talents of the participants, outstanding available technology, and incredible natural resources of the forest, the festival would not be possible. Future Forest 2018 will exceed expectations and will only continue to grow in future years to come.
