Sea shanties are traditional tunes sung by sailors during work aboard ships and each song has a particular rhythm to match the task at hand.

Anchored in the charming fishing village of Fundy-St. Martins, New Brunswick, every August, the award-winning Fundy Sea Shanty Festival is an annual celebration of the sailors who helped shape nations during the age of sail. With a thrilling lineup of music, food, and entertainment, it's the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the rich history and culture of the maritime region.

You'll be treated to a diverse range of musical performances, featuring local and international talent. Sing and dance along to traditional sea shanties, folk songs, and other maritime melodies.

But the festival is not only about music - it's also a chance to indulge in delicious food, enjoy toe-tapping, knee-slapping fun, and immerse yourself in the past and present highlights of this stunning coastal community. Plan to also stroll the Harbour Bazaar, which features some of our region's most talented craft and food vendors.

Whether you're a history buff, a music lover, or simply seeking a fun and unique experience, you're in for a memorable weekend that celebrated its fifth anniversary in 2026. Mark your calendars to set sail with us at the next one!
