Music Industry Development Program Under Review

Posted ByJean Surette

As part of the first step in reviewing the Music Industry Development (MID) Program, Music•Musique NB (MNB) has produced a province-wide music industry survey. MNB has been administering the investment program on behalf of the Department of Tourism, Heritage and Culture since May 2017.

"The music industry is in constant flux," says Jean Surette, executive director of MNB, "and we want to ensure that the investment program stays current and relevant." The survey is aimed at both past and potential clients of the MID Program, and results will be used to identify industry needs, priorities and issues. "We hope that this initial survey will lay the groundwork for the focus groups convened later this year," continues M. Surette.

The current MID program has three major components which offers financial support to the music industry in New Brunswick, namely Sound Recording, Market Access and Emerging Artists. Individual musicians, groups and businesses can access a maximum of $10,000 per fiscal year (starting on April 1st).

You have until December 8th to complete the survey.
