Summary

Music•Musique NB is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Coordinator to oversee the planning, administration, and delivery of the Prix MNB Awards Awards program as well as the MID investment program juries. This role is central to ensuring a fair, transparent, and well-executed awards process—from guideline updates and intake management to jury coordination and awards show delivery.

The Coordinator works closely with MNB staff, the Board of Directors, jury members, artists, sponsors, and production partners to ensure the success of one of MNB’s flagship events. The coordinator can work remotely and will include several meetings at the MNB office during the course of the contract. The contractee must be onsite in Moncton for the week leading up to the Awards on October 22nd, 2026.

About the MID Program

The Music Industry Development Program (MID) is designed to foster the development and growth of the music industry in New Brunswick through investment in projects submitted by New Brunswick music industry artists and businesses. Music·Musique NB oversees the investment program on behalf of the New Brunswick Department of Tourism, Heritage and Culture. Key Responsibilities

Program Planning & Updates

  • review and update Prix MNB Awards Awards guidelines and secure executive and board approval.
  • update intake forms, submission requirements, and platform information.
  • develop and manage a communications and promotions timeline in collaboration with staff.
  • ensure all awards-related information is accurate and current on the website.

Intake & Application Management

  • act as the primary point of contact during the intake period, responding to applicant questions.
  • review applications as they are submitted to flag missing information or ineligible entries.
  • verify applicant eligibility, including up-to-date MNB membership status.
  • coordinate outreach with the board, partners, and community stakeholders to address low participation in specific categories.

Jury Coordination

Prix MNB Awards Awards

  • determine jury needs for each award category and recruit jury members accordingly.
  • expand and diversify the jury pool to address gaps and blind spots.
  • establish juries for each category and ensure all information is accurately reflected on the platform.
  • update and distribute jury guidelines and timelines.
  • monitor jury progress, respond to questions, and follow up to ensure deadlines are met.

MID Investment Program

  • work closely with the MID investment program manager.
  • determine jury needs for 3 components of the MID investment program (5 rounds total) and recruit jury members accordingly.
  • expand and diversify the jury pool to address gaps and blind spots.
  • monitor jury progress, refer questions to the MID program manager, and follow up to ensure deadlines are met.
  • flag issues to the MID investment program manager.
  • manage jury member invoicing.

Nominations & Results

  • compile jury results and flag issues to executive staff.
  • conduct final eligibility checks for nominees.
  • coordinate with communications staff on the nominations announcement.
  • notify nominated artists and deploy the nominations promotion strategy.

Sponsorship & Awards Show Coordination

  • ensure each award category has a confirmed sponsor, in coordination with staff.
  • communicate with nominees, sponsors, and partners regarding tickets and attendance.
  • coordinate artist selection for performances and manage artist contracts.
  • assess production needs and book the production team.
  • identify and confirm the mc and musical support.
  • develop the show run sheet and coordinate the printed handout with a graphic designer.
  • coordinate reception logistics
  • communicate invoicing and payment requirements to staff.

Qualifications & Skills

  • a good understanding of the music industry in general is an asset but not required; 
  • good communication and writing skills;
  • proficiency in French and English is an asset;
  • ability to multitask and work independently and collaboratively;
  • exceptional organizational skills;
  • attention to detail;
  • strong computer, spreadsheet, and data management skills;
  • proficient with online management tools such as Google Workspace and similar platforms;
  • must be able to work remotely;
  • must have access to the internet and computer;
  • must be a resident of New Brunswick*.

*We consider a NB resident as someone who possesses a NB Government issued ID such as a valid driver's licence or NB Health Insurance Card
