Connor Fox is a rising force in roots and blues rock, blending soulful guitar mastery with dynamic live performances. After gaining acclaim with The Hypochondriacs, he launched his debut solo album Music Room to sold-out shows and critical praise. His genre-spanning style and incredible guitar playing marks him as a generational talent destined for a bright future in music.
Growing up in Fredericton, New Brunswick, music was always a big part of Connor's life. Whether it was his dad strumming around the house, or playing his Stevie Ray Vaughan and Van Halen records, Connor was immersed at an early age. He started playing guitar at only four years old, and by nine he played his first gig. His first gig wasn’t an open mic or family reunion though, Connor was sharing the stage with Elvis Presley's drummer DJ Fontana at the Fredericton Playhouse, one of the city's most renowned venues.
Over the years, Connor kept practicing and honing in on his craft as a guitar player, and in 2019 he joined Fredericton's “The Hypochondriacs”. Before long, Connors guitar playing became a defining sound for the band, and his distinctive playing and tone became recognizable within a few notes.
Connor has also fronted a Stevie Ray Vaughan tribute show, performed in his own Grateful Dead tribute group, and performed, written and recorded with funk/fusion instrumental group “Capital 6”. On top of this, he has shared the stage backing up acts such as David Myles and Logan Richard.
In 2023, Fox released his debut album “Music Room”. The album was written and recorded all by Connor, in his bedroom studio, and received immediate praise. Upbeat jams like ‘Ain’t No Time’ to heartfelt ballads such as ‘Dear Love Of My Love’, the album showcases all sides of this up-and-coming artist. While showcasing Fox’s tasteful and diverse guitar chops, Music Room also lets Fox shine as a songwriter, lyricist and vocalist. The album was nominated at both the Music New Brunswick Awards and the East Coast Music Awards. The song “Don’t Ruin A Good Thing” from Music Room eventually went on to be placed as the theme song on CBC Fredericton Information Morning program. More recently, he played the main stage at Harvest Music Festival, opening for “Grace Bowers & The Hodge Podge” and “The Revivalists”. His current band “Connor Fox Trio” continues to tour across the maritimes, playing the songs from “Music Room”, as well as his new singles “Ridin’ On / Vanishland”, and “The Man and His Friend”.
As Connor Fox continues to evolve and refine his artistry, his early achievements and the enthusiastic reception of his work thus far suggests a bright future ahead. His journey is just beginning.
